October Is an Invitation to Begin Again

Dear Family,

Welcome to October. There is something beautiful about entering a new month. It may not change everything overnight, but it gives us an opportunity to pause, breathe, look at where we have been and decide how we want to continue.

For me, October has always felt special. It is my birth month, so perhaps I naturally receive it with a little more tenderness. But this year, I am entering it with an even deeper appreciation for what it means to begin again.

Beginning again does not always mean starting from nothing. Sometimes, it means starting with what remains. It means gathering the lessons, strength, wisdom and faith that life has placed in our hands and allowing God to show us what can still be built from them.

Many of us enter a new month carrying things the previous one did not resolve. There may still be prayers waiting for answers, responsibilities demanding our attention, relationships requiring wisdom or decisions we are not yet certain how to make. A new month does not pretend those things have disappeared. Instead, it gently reminds us that they are not the only things present.

Mercy is present too. Hope is present. The love of God is present. And sometimes, that is where a new beginning starts—not with everything around us suddenly changing, but with something within us becoming willing to hope again.

I am learning to appreciate the quieter expressions of God’s goodness: a peaceful morning, food on the table, a conversation that brings comfort, the laughter of our children, strength to complete an ordinary task, or the courage to try something we had almost abandoned. These things may appear small, especially when we are waiting for something significant. But small does not mean meaningless.

Some of the most beautiful changes in our lives begin quietly. A seed does not announce itself while it is growing beneath the soil. Morning does not arrive all at once. Light begins at the edge of the sky, and gradually, darkness gives way.

Perhaps that is what October will be for some of us: the first appearance of light after a difficult night. Perhaps it will be the month when we finally release something we have carried for too long. Perhaps we will forgive, rest, ask for help, take the next step, or recognise that God has been answering us in ways we did not initially understand.

And perhaps October will simply teach us to notice life again—to use the beautiful cup instead of keeping it for a special occasion; to prepare a meal and sit down long enough to enjoy it; to call someone we love; to laugh without feeling guilty; to celebrate small progress; and to thank God for what is present, even while we continue praying for what is still to come.

There is no pressure to enter this month with every answer. You do not need to have the entire year figured out. You do not need to force yourself into excitement if your heart is tired. You can enter October honestly, bringing God the hope, uncertainty, gratitude, disappointment and expectation that exist together within you. He is not intimidated by any of it.

My prayer is that this month will meet you gently. I pray that you will recognise God in your ordinary days, receive courage for the decisions ahead and discover happiness in places you may once have overlooked. I pray that you will not despise small beginnings or compare your progress with someone else’s finished picture.

I pray that you will understand that beginning again is not evidence that you failed. Sometimes, beginning again is evidence that you survived, learned, healed and finally became ready to take another step.

As you read this October edition of Echoes, I hope you find something that feels like companionship: a word that encourages you, a story that remains with you, something useful for your home, a reason to smile and a reminder that you are not walking alone.

Thank you for returning to this little space we are building together. Thank you for reading, sharing and allowing Echoes to become part of your month.

Welcome to October. May it bring new mercy, quiet courage and beautiful beginnings. I am so glad you are here.

September 2026 Issue

A Word from Margaret

Welcome to the very first edition of Echoes.

Dear Family,

There is something special about beginnings.

Sometimes they arrive loudly, with everything perfectly in place. And sometimes they begin quietly, with what you have in your hands, a heart willing to serve, and enough faith to take the first step.

For me, this is one of those beginnings.

Echoes was created because I wanted us to have something that could meet us beyond a Sunday service, a prayer meeting or a social media post. Something we could sit with. Something that could encourage our faith while also making room for the ordinary things that make up our lives. Our family, health, relationships, service, questions, laughter, waiting, giving and growing.

Because our walk with God happens right there, in the middle of real life.

My hope is that each month, when Echoes reaches you, you will find something inside these pages that stays with you.

Perhaps it will be a Scripture you needed. Perhaps a story will make you see something differently. Perhaps you will discover something useful for your home. Maybe you will find an opportunity to help someone else.

Perhaps you will simply be reminded that somewhere, someone is praying, believing and walking this journey of faith alongside you. Whatever it is, I hope there will always be an echo… something that remains after you have turned the last page.

As we begin, I also want to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Christ Family Fellowship. Thank you to those who pray with us and for us. Thank you to those who give, share our work, attend our gatherings, read what we create, encourage us quietly, and continue to believe in what God is building through this ministry. Some of you have supported us in ways other people will never see.

I see it, and I am deeply grateful.

To you, reading Echoes for the first time. Thank you for opening these pages and giving us a little of your time. This is our first edition. We will learn, we will grow. Some things will change along the way. But I hope one thing never changes — that everything we do remains rooted in Jesus and expressed through genuine love for people.

There is so much ahead.

But for now, this is where we begin.

Welcome to Echoes. I am so glad you are here.

With love,
